Gauges Appear different on different browsers

Post by krmidas »

Interesting how the gauges appear this way on Chrome:

And this way on Microsoft's Edge Browser:
2.PNG
Any ideas why?

'cause Edge isn't doing a very good job of rendering them?
There are no graphics files in the gauges, they are "drawn" with code, it's up to the browser to show the result, it doesn't look like Edge does a very good job of it. Microsoft are dropping Edge - at last they are going to move to a decent browser engine, but let's see how much of a mess they can make of it!

The gauges on the Edge browser are transparent. You see the sky and clouds through the face.

I think I may actually prefer it!

My page changes the sky background after dusk. Here's another comparison with the night sky, which better shows that the Edge browser is making gauges transparent.

After playing with the demo page it is only the "brushed stainless" background that has this issue in Edge...
... and it does display it if you set the emulation to IE 11...

When Micro$oft switch Edge to the Chromium based engine, it might work correctly.
