I have this trouble with the MXDiags folder. It keeps filling up, though I have the setting to use them turned off. And sometimes, maybe once a week, it fills with a huge amount of information.
I attached my expurgated cumulus.ini file (named Cumulus.txt). Maybe there is a setting I missed.
Running 3043 on WIndows 10, Davis Vue
Welcome to the Cumulus Support forum.
Latest Cumulus MX V4 release 4.0.1 (build 4023) - 16 May 2024
(Note that 4.1.0 (build 4024) - 05 June 2024 remains available, but usage of this version is not recommended - particularly for Davis stations - and the included utility in this distribution for migrating to v4 is known to contain errors affecting conversion of dayfile.txt)
Latest Cumulus MX V3 release 3.28.6 (build 3283) - 21 March 2024
Legacy Cumulus 1 release 1.9.4 (build 1099) - 28 November 2014
(a patch is available for 1.9.4 build 1099 that extends the date range of drop-down menus to 2030)

I inadvertently made the uploading of realtimegauges.txt default, without regard for whether uploading to a web site is configured. If you don’t have an ftp server configured this will cause an error to be logged every few seconds. If this is the cause, you can turn it off in the internet settings.

Hmmm. I have an FTP server, and it's updating the files okay.
I reinstalled the software files, trying to see if it was a corrupted file somewhere causing my difficulty, but the behavior was the same.

Then the best thing to do would be to look at the diags file to see what is being logged frequently.
Note that the there is no setting to turn off use of the diags files, you have presumably turned off something else.

Oh, I thought that was a switch in the ini file.
Must be a usb problem. Of some kind. Probably not worth solving. The city put in a station down the road from mine.
