Re: Google map message on website
It shows up a marker in Parkstone, near Bournemouth. That's only 10 miles from me.

Re: Google map message on website
Thanks Mapantz. On the advice of Steve I removed a web address from the supplied code that didn’t appear relevant. I’ll restore it tomorrow and see if it makes a difference.
I’ve never seen that before. Crazy!

It's not working that well, Ray!
Your site is showing whatever XXX Woking Road is closest to the viewer (Google knows everything ....)!
You should be able to switch it to a postcode without ill effect (and also hiding the address at which we know there's a weather station in the garden ...).
Try changing the relevant bit of code to be q=SK8%206NZ (the %20 in the middle is the code for a space character)

Hi Gents,
Experimentor, I agree it's choosing the nearest Woking Road to the viewer's location. I removed the house number for obvious reasons. I'll revert to the Post Code and thanks for the code.
David, thanks for the screenshot. Any viewer looking at my temps and associating them with Singapore would be very confused.

Re: Google map message on website
I've changed the code so would appreciate comments from users as to whether it's fixed the problem. If there's a Post Code of SK8 6NZ in Ulan Bator I'm stuffed!

Re: Google map message on website
Looks good from here. I noticed it was pointing to the wrong place (for me) before but didn't say anything as I thought you were still testing before putting in your actual location!

Ray, the map shows SK8 6NZ and pointer is between Cheadle Hulme, Bramhall, Handforth, and Heald Green and presume that black sedan is yours
And for whatever reason your your Cumulus recording days can't seem to catch up to mine

Paul

Re: Google map message on website
Thanks for confirming my location is now okay Paul. What's a sedan? Only kidding. I guess you mean a saloon. Mine's in the garage - Honda Civic, damn fine motor!
I won't catch you up with the recording days but you can only dream of a January day where the lowest maximum is -1.1C. Do you bother running your freezers over there in the winter?
