Welcome to the Cumulus Support forum.
Latest Cumulus MX V4 release 4.0.1 (build 4023) - 16 May 2024
(Note that 4.1.0 (build 4024) - 05 June 2024 remains available, but usage of this version is not recommended - particularly for Davis stations - and the included utility in this distribution for migrating to v4 is known to contain errors affecting conversion of dayfile.txt)
Latest Cumulus MX V3 release 3.28.6 (build 3283) - 21 March 2024
Legacy Cumulus 1 release 1.9.4 (build 1099) - 28 November 2014
(a patch is available for 1.9.4 build 1099 that extends the date range of drop-down menus to 2030)

Re: I am getting this error
As it says, something else is using the file when Cumulus is trying to write to it. Often caused by antivirus software or similar.

Re: I am getting this error
Is cumulus running when you are trying to edit the file? you need to stop cumulus first.

On your Windows 7 pc press CTRL SHIFT and ESC together to see task manager and that shows you what processes are running.Athensman wrote:how can i find out
http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/FAQ#I_am_g ... _error_103 mentions some of the processes that you might look for.
If you are still stuck, there is software that claims to help you find out what processes are accessing what files, find it with a search engine, but only you can decide if it is trustworthy enough to install on your pc.

Process Explorer from Sysinternals is very good and allows you to watch each individual process so you can see disk read/writes etc.
