Hi, I have just moved over to using CumulusMX on my iMAC following many years of using an old Windows XP laptop (the laptop finally gave up the ghost last week!)
Anyway CumulusMX is working ok on my iMAC but I currently have to launch it manually. I can write a script for launching it at startup but is there anyway I can do that and not have to put in my password each time it launches?
The script I am using is:
#!/bin/bash
sudo mono CumulusMX.exe -lang en-GB
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

(Note that 4.1.0 (build 4024) - 05 June 2024 remains available, but usage of this version is not recommended - particularly for Davis stations - and the included utility in this distribution for migrating to v4 is known to contain errors affecting conversion of dayfile.txt)

Legacy Cumulus 1 release 1.9.4 (build 1099) - 28 November 2014

Can't you set up your iMac to automatically log in to an account?

Thanks for the suggestion, and apologies for the delay in responding...
I don't think automatically logging into my account would help because currently I am already logged into the account when I manually run the "sudo mono CumulusMX.exe -lang en-GB" command but it still asks for a password.

I'm no expert but i think you can either edit your sudoers file via visudo, or use sudo -s with a password file ?

Re: Automatically starting CumulusMX on OXS without password
Thanks for the suggestion, I will take a look at that... but I have been temporarily side-tracked by my Aercus weather station going pear-shaped and the need to get (yet another!) new station. I feel it might be time for a Davis if I can scrape together the funds
