Testing one RPi2 running Jessie. I am OK with it.
Next testing Ubuntu 16.04 on RPi2 / CumulusMX

The only problem I saw was the fact that Ubuntu runs like a pig on the Pi. I think there's a reason why they use Jessie..and I prefer Jessie Lite actually.jank wrote:Hi Pete

When I have some free time (and that looks like a month down the road) I am going to try switching my RP3 to Jessie Lite. I don't need the desktop any longer. I am doing everything headless via SSH now anyway.BigOkie wrote:The only problem I saw was the fact that Ubuntu runs like a pig on the Pi. Re: Anyone running CumulusMX on RPi2 Ubuntu 16.04?
Thanks Guys.
Yup tried Ubuntu / Jessie on another device (automation) and found Ubuntu heavier than Jessie and Jessie heavier than Wheezy.
So thought about Jessie light.
After the above chit chat might just leave CumulusMX at Wheezy for the time bean as it is working fine and I should leave well enough alone.
Do also have a Pine64/2Gb machine going. It is way faster running Ubuntu 16.04 64 bit server than the above two.
Here I have never used the RPi desktops and have switched over to Linux on my laptops/desktops and use VM's for Wintel these days.
