Re: Option to send wind gust data to Wunderground...
I suppose I should really have made it configurable. Five seconds seemed like a reasonable default.
Note that while the VP2 anemometer sends the wind speed every 2.5 seconds, it actually takes a little bit longer than that (closer to 3 seconds) to read each set of data from the console (due to the way the Davis DLL works).

Out of interest I had a quick look to see what WU say on the matter -- they suggest a value of between 3 and 10 seconds. So I guess 5 is a good numbersteve wrote:I suppose I should really have made it configurable. Five seconds seemed like a reasonable default.

Ray - I've split the posts about your data file problem out into a separate thread.

Anyone have an idea on why my Rapid Fire low temp is always 0?

Yes, your tabular data looks OK. I assume today's min in Cumulus is OK? When you say 'always' zero, do you really mean always - it shows that every day?

Go to the 19th August page here. http://www.wunderground.com/weatherstat ... phspan=day
Your station had a glitch at 16:33. Delete that entry and it should sort itself out. Check your Cumulus data too.

Re: Option to send wind gust data to Wunderground...
Good spotting Ray
Deleted the entry on WU but still shows 0C but that may be due to the next update or caching with WU.
Thanks
No glitch in the Cumulus data so that was a bit weird.
I tend to look at the graphs in Cumulus first thing in the morning as a glitch tends to stand out like dogs balls

Re: Option to send wind gust data to Wunderground...
I've found a bug. When Cumulus starts up, it reads the data from the logger, then starts the various timers. The rapid fire timer is 5 seconds and the 'read data' timer is 10 seconds (for Fine Offset). If there was no new data to be downloaded from the logger, the data values are still zero when the first rapid fire update takes place. I'm guessing this is what happened in this case, Terry, as you restarted Cumulus after installing the latest build on the 19th?

Re: Option to send wind gust data to Wunderground...
It's possible that it may be another way that this happens then.
As you know, I have problems with directinput in directx not working when the base station is plugged in. If I start a game, I close Cumulus and disconnect the usb to be able to start the game. Once the game is started then I can plug in the USB and start Cumulus. Ocassionally I forget to plug in the USB before starting Cumulus so no data would download. Would this cause the problem?
How do I get rapid fire low temp running properly?

It shouldn't, because Cumulus would be unable to find the station and hence wouldn't start any timers.Super-T wrote: Ocassionally I forget to plug in the USB before starting Cumulus so no data would download. Would this cause the problem?
I've fixed the bug and will upload a new version shortly (I have to go catch the boat in a few minutes to go shopping, so it won't be until this evening), so it shouldn't happen again. If you want to fix existing data, other than what's been suggested, I don't really know. How do I get rapid fire low temp running properly?

I'll wait and see if it clears itself up on rapidfire. If not then I will give them the problem

I bought her an expensive multi-fuel stove instead. And for the avoidance of doubt, a stove here is not a thing for cooking with, it's a thing for sitting around for romantic evenings during the long winter monthsSuper-T wrote:Don't forget to buy the wife some flowers when shopping.
