Upload Problem
Sunday, December 18, 2011, I set up a Davis VP1 at a remote (150 miles) location. I installed Cumulus 1.9.2 build 1024 to upload data to a personal website, CWOP, and Wunderground. The personal website seems to be correct http://smlweather.com/Bluefield/index.htm . CWOP is 95% correct but the barometer reading is not functioning, DW9118. (http://www.findu.com/cgi-bin/find.cgi?call=DW9118). And Wunderground, KWVBLUEF2, is not working at all. (http://www.wunderground.com/weatherstat ... =KWVBLUEF2).
FWIW this is on a Vista 64bit machine.
The native pressure is SLP inhg. I know that there has to be a conversion to Altimeter pressure in mb to send to CWOP. Could there be a problem there? I have absolutely no thought as to possible problem with Wunderground, KWVBLUEF2.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
George

Re: Upload Problem
Quite likely. It sounds like you have the same problem as in this thread: https://cumulus.hosiene.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=5133 (the earlier CWOP problems, not the more recent totally unrelated issue which was confusingly added to the same thread).George Richardson wrote:I know that there has to be a conversion to Altimeter pressure in mb to send to CWOP. If you stop Cumulus, and turn on the debug log from startup by editing cumulus.ini and adding a line to the [Station] section
Logging=1
we may be able to see what the VP2 is sending in response to the BARDATA command. Delete any pre-existing debug.log file.
The debug log will also show the updates to WU with any associated error responses.I have absolutely no thought as to possible problem with Wunderground, KWVBLUEF2.

Steve
I hope this works. Couldn't find zipper.
Thanks for the help.
Oh, FWIW, VPLive was able to upload to CWOP so I must have something set wrong.

Re: Upload Problem
Here's the reason for the lack of WU data:
0026.692 : 3:36:40 PM WU Response Code: 200 Response = INVALIDPASSWORDID|Password and/or id are incorrect
The CWOP problem is as in the other thread. The station responds correctly to the first 'BARDATA' request:
0017.972 : Sending BARDATA
0019.298 : Bardata = 0A 0D 4F 4B 0A 0D 42 41 52 20 33 30 30 32 37 0A 0D 45 4C 45 56 41 54 49 4F 4E 20 32 36 37 37 0A 0D 44 45 57 20 50 4F 49 4E 54 20 34 32 0A 0D 56 49 52 54 55 41 4C 20 54 45 4D 50 20 34 37 0A 0D 43 20 32 31 0A 0D 52 20 31 31 30 33 0A 0D 42 41 52 43 41 4C 20 34 37 0A 0D 47 41 49 4E 20 31 35 32 37 0A 0D 4F 46 46 53 45 54 20 31 37 38 30 32 0A 0D FFFFFFFF
0019.298 : MSLP=0 SP=27.2290153503418 AP=30.006685256958 pIn=30.0270004272461 eFt=2677 mtF=47 C=2.09999990463257
But not to subsequent ones:
0048.626 : Sending BARDATA
0049.858 : Bardata = 0A 0D FFFFFFFF
0110.371 : Sending BARDATA
0111.603 : Bardata = 0A 0D FFFFFFFF
I'm afraid I have no idea why this happens. I'll have another look at the protocol spec to see if I can find an explanation for this odd behaviour.

Re: Upload Problem
The station 'sleeps' between commands; yours seems reluctant to wake, I'll try a bit harder to rouse it. Please try this replacement cumulus.exe: http://nybbles.co.uk/downloads/Cumulus.zip

Re: Upload Problem
Steve,
Thanks for looking into this, I'll try your zip in a while. I got WU to allow me to reset the password and everything is good there.
This time of the year mama is Christmasing and while she doesn't understand the correct priorities, I DO, and keeping mama happy is #1.
George
PS FWIW in case I forgot to say this, the station is an old VP1 which might have something to do with the problem. Will attempt the fix shortly.

Re: Upload Problem
Steve,
Thank you for your effort. I installed (copied over) the revised Cumulus.exe file you provided but it did not solve the problem. Any other ideas?

Re: Upload Problem
Steve,
Thank you for the effort. I think the problem is gone. I also thought I had replaced the cumulus exe file the last time around. In some fairness to me, I keep all my computers on XP and the remote computer is a 64 bit Vista machine which I'm trying to maintain via TeamViewer. I expect that tomorrow morning everything is going to be sailing along and we'll put this problem to bed.
Thanks again,
George

Re: Upload Problem
Steve,
Once again, thanks for solving my problem. The new Cumulus has been running for almost 24 hours and has been stopped and restarted a couple of times. It's good!
