Yes, correct on both points.

I see what the problem is. You're actually using Windows 7, despite what you have in your profile. It's the same problem as this:

If you apply the circumvention and restart Cumulus, that will hopefully fix it.

Woops, forgot to update profile a couple of months ago when the old laptop died and I bought a new one with 7 installed. Updated now.

I applied that this morning, but it was after the latest loss of yesterday data. I had noticed a few incorrect format dates a few weeks ago.

thanks, Gordon

Actually, it may not sort itself out until tomorrow (when yesterday.ini gets written again). Or (with Cumulus stopped), you could edit the date in yesterday.ini to correct the format to 05/05/2010.

Stopped Cumulus, edited yesterday.ini and then restarted- only to find I suddenly have a record daily rainfall of 72.6mm with an alarm for a new record today! All apparently in the past hour, under a cloudless sky... hmmmm.
No idea where that came from.

Stopped Cumulus again, looked in today.ini, but see no sign of it, so restart Cumulus again and its vanished.

Very strange.

Edit: I noticed the date in the file was 5/5/2010, hard to say what format that is :) Wrong date though, so I changed it to 4/5/2010, but upon restarting Cumulus I see yesterday is still all zeros.

I checked the records, and that incorrect 76mm was in there for the hourly and daily record, so I checked the online records which still had the correct amounts as they hadnt yet been written over with a new upload.

Yes, it's not a good day for diagnosing this problem.

It's the 5th today (yesterday.ini uses today's date), your format needs to be 05/05/2010 as I said above.
