This has been happening for approximately 4 days.
According to dayfile.txt, you had 0.3 mm of rain on the 21st, 25th and 26th.

21/08/10,28.1,135,10:46,10.3,01:45,20.8,15:40,1013.8,02:15,1019.5,22:08,0.0,00:15,0.3,14.2,96.2,12.2,09:52

25/08/10,22.0,315,12:17,10.4,21:17,20.9,15:10,1003.9,23:47,1008.6,08:17,0.6,12:47,0.3,14.2,60.4,12.2,12:17
26/08/10,24.5,315,13:44,9.6,02:47,21.3,14:53,1000.5,14:50,1004.4,23:17,0.6,05:17,0.3,13.9,70.9,14.8,14:21

This is confirmed by the station's rain counter going up by one tip on each of those days:

21/08/10,09:15,16.3,42,2.7,9.7,19.4,315,0.0,0.0,1015.9,35.7,22.9,52,19.4,16.2,16.3
21/08/10,09:39,16.4,43,3.1,1.1,3.6,315,0.0,0.3,1015.7,36.0,23.9,48,3.6,16.4,16.4

25/08/10,12:17,18.2,24,-4.6,12.2,22.0,315,0.0,0.0,1005.7,36.0,21.8,39,22.0,18.2,18.2
25/08/10,12:47,18.4,24,-4.4,6.1,12.2,225,0.6,0.3,1005.6,36.3,21.2,40,12.2,18.4,18.4

26/08/10,04:47,11.5,53,1.9,7.2,17.3,315,0.0,0.0,1001.0,36.3,16.5,47,17.3,10.9,11.5
26/08/10,05:17,11.4,54,2.1,9.7,15.8,315,0.6,0.3,1001.6,36.6,16.1,47,15.8,10.3,11.4

It's also registered another tip today:

27/08/10,05:17,12.7,51,2.4,15.8,34.2,1,0.0,0.0,1003.1,36.6,15.4,50,34.2,11.2,12.7
27/08/10,05:47,12.6,53,2.9,6.1,12.2,315,0.6,0.3,1004.1,36.9,15.3,50,12.2,12.4,12.6

On each of those occasions, you appear to have had a gust of wind at the same time, so if this isn't actually real rain, it's likely that the wind is causing your rain gauge to tip.

Hi Steve,
Thank you very much for that. You’re definitely correct in the findings. It look like I'm going to have to design some type of barrier to go around the gauge to stop the wind disrupting the rain gauge. Today we haven’t had any strong wind here and the rain gauge was given me the correct readings of 0.0.
Thanks again
Andrew
