Importing past data from Weatherlink into Cumulus

Post by GribinIsaf »

I have Davis Vantage Vue to WeatherLinkLive to Weatherlink.com.

I used Cumulus years ago (earlier version) and thought I would try MX in order to store and use data locally.
I have set it to run website on NAS - all working fine.
If the machine running MX is switched off it fetches recent data it has missed from Weatherlink.

I have several years data on Weatherlink - is it possible to retrieve all of this so Cumulus has access to it?

I can see along thread on "Weatherlink to Cumulus log converter" here, but no one has posted there in the last 18 months.
Is this the tool I need or is there another way... or anyway?

Many thanks for any pointers

Hi,

This indicates you have the Weatherlink.com Pro subscription.

This should work to convert your weatherlink.wlk files to Cumulus format for both Cumulus1 or CumulusMX. When you have the monthly log files converted/added to CumulusMX you can then use the CreateMissing utility to fill in the earlier dayfile.txt entries. Then you should also be able to update your various Records through the Records Editors.

Weatherlink.com Pro can import from Weatherlink.wlk files. It can also export data, but that would not be in CumulusMX format.

Enjoy,
Paul

The only export data I can find on Weatherlink.com gives .csv not .wlk
Is that what I put into the Weatherlink to Cumulus log converter?
(I have no Davis data locally, only at weatherlink.com)

Thanks

Hi,
Unfortunately the WL.com export is not in the Weatherlink .wlk format and the Cumulus Weatherlink convertor, as I indicated, is for Weatherlink .wlk files (I think developed by Steve when there was no Weatherlink.com). The various Weatherlink usage by Davis can be quite confusing with Weatherlink loggers, Weatherlink PC program, old WeatherlinkIP site and the newer Weatherlink.com and WeatherlinkLive, and each having their features and their limitations.

Sorry I have no suggestion on adding old Weatherlink.com data to Cumulus data.

Enjoy,
Paul
