Davis Weather Monitor 2 Weatherlink hardware wanted

Post by brookr »

Has anyone got an old Weather Monitor 2 ? I'm looking for the Weatherlink Hardware that attaches to the unit. Obviously it would have to be in working condition. M ine has packed up after 20 years, but I believe they are very robust devices.
Thank you

Crap. I know this is an older post... but I _just_ ripped out my old Weather Monitor II a few months ago... and figured no one would want it. I kind of hacked it up and sent it to eWaste recycling. :(

To your comment about it being solid hardware... I think I installed it when I was 13. It had been running for 24 years with hardly any issues. I had replaced the temp probe when the thermistor died (and upgraded with one that had temp/humidity) about 17 years ago. The flash on the Weatherlink COM port had some corrupt blocks but still worked... and I think the weathervane and anemometer probably needed to be replaced or 'oiled' somehow. Rain gauge never had any issues at all (although I really like the redesigned one I have now).

Anyway, that doesn't help you... but thought I'd comment about its reliability. ;)

Only just looked back and read your post. Pity about that. Hoping my VP2 is as robust.
Thanks :)

:) Good morning
A little while ago back in November you posted in reply to PaulMy that you had an old and working Weatherlink. as shown in my picture.
Sorry for not getting back sooner. I am most grateful if you still have the hardware. It's uncanny that I have just seen your message after booting up my PC and trying the hardware again on another PC. It didn't work as before. I am happy to supply postage costs and any reasonable sum for the Weatherlink

hardware.
I look forward to hearing from you.
