I've had a Vantage Vue for three and a half years. Recently the temperature and humidity stopped reporting. After cleaning the sensor there was no change so I investigated replacement - to cut things short the cheapest was to buy a s/h ISS.
This leaves me with the possibility of having a more optimally sited anemometer and wind vane, so I now have the old ISS on a different ID and can switch between them in the console setup. Is there a way of using the temperature/humidity/rain from one ISS and the wind strength and direction from another, combining them in the console before Cumulus reads it?

Yes, just set your ISS with the wind sensor to be a Wind Transmitter in the console config, and leave your ISS with T/H/R configured as an ISS.

Oh so close.
The console can't see the anemometer ISS. I do have a console that can, but that is hidden away and sending data via logger to my RPi website. If only you could receive on more than one channel and retransmit the one not shown/logged.

Not sure I've understood your set-up and aims completely at a quick glance and don't know how far apart the two consoles might be, but is it possible you could:
1. Set the anemometer console to retransmit on an unused channel;
2. Pick up the retransmitted channel as an anemometer Tx on the other console.
Or some combination of the above if I haven't grasped the exact configuration.
