Mapantz, odd. I can see my banner. Are your settings preventing you from seeing it?

Yes, I’ll do both at the same time. For obvious reasons I wasn’t going near it until all data from the logger had been retrieved.

Given my website is updated every 15 minutes it seems logical to make that the archive setting in both WL and Cumulus.
Cheers,
Ray, Cheshire.

I can see it if I open the banner up in it's own tab. It just doesn't show on this site.

Ray, all your links have http:// and not https:// on them.

Chrome and other browsers stop displaying images and links to http as this is classed as insecure. so your banner is blocked.

you need to get a domain cert on your site. most hosting companies these days allow for LetsEncrypt certs which are free and renewed automatically every 3 months.

looks like your Hosting company however may charge for this feature. https://hostpresto.com/help/ssl-certifi ... rtificate/

Email them and ask if they support free LetsEncrypt certs for websites? there should be a plugin for cpanel

Using Firefox it’s hidden because of AdBlocker. Safari on my iPad shows it okay. Just Google being paranoid / overprotective as usual.

Simon, I’ll make enquiries with my web hosting company. Is it correct that my domain of www.cheadlehulmeweather.co.uk can be setup with both http and https?

Free? Really? I have zero knowledge on this. Are any changes required to how I upload my data or the naming of my various webpages?
Cheers,
Ray, Cheshire.

yes you just get a cert to cover *.cheadlehulmeweather.co.uk so it includes subdomains. it is free if you use LetsEncrypt.

most website hosting companies with cpanel support this service. if not, you'd have to create it locally and then upload each 90 days or just before it runs out. I host my own website at home on a linux box, and use LEgo to create my cert with lets Encrypt then download to the server. Apache is then restarted and then my new cert is valid.

The attached image shows the options available to me on my HostPresto account for a secure website. Do I take it the SSL / TLS option is what I need to use?

Yes but I also had to have a conversation with support as I believe this requests it, but doesn't implement it. This of course may be different with your hosting companies Cpanel.

Thanks David. I'll have a chat with them next week. Better I have control over when to make the change rather than have it imposed on me at some future date.

8 days after requesting help from Davis and they have yet to reply. Just as well I took another course of action. Even in these unique times that level of (non) support is pretty dreadful.

My experience with Davis support has been excellent. Email through their support link within 24 hours, and further follow up even quicker. For pressing issues, like trying to get my AirLink working, I phone them and usually less than 10 minute wait at the most. Likely better service here as Davis is our direct contact, rather than a reseller.

Enjoy,
Paul

It would seem that if you live on the North America continent support is okay. If you don't then hard cheese. We all pay the same for the hardware so I'm struggling to understand why some get a better service that others.
