Re: hi do i need this
Hi dazza. I have it as a friend was able to buy it on a trip to the US and the price was much lower than we would pay here. For UK climate I wouldn't say it's necessary.

I would get it. When you have light winds and sunshine it keeps the air flowing past the temperature sensor so you measure the outside air temperature rather than the temperature of the air inside the unit. If you don't have it then you get higher temperatures than reality.

Re: hi do i need this
I personally don't believe it's needed in this country.
I have my naturally aspirated Davis sensor and another sensor with a DIY radiation shield and a fan on a post at the exact same height. Back in the Summer, I broke my high temp record several times, but both sensors recorded the exact same temperatures.

Re: hi do i need this
I use a Daytime FARS on my vPro2. I had considered a full 24hour, but since I live in NI and our temps here are much lower than most of England I decided only to invest in the Daytime one which was a cheaper upgrade option for me.

Re: hi do i need this
There is no need to reset your data if you don't wish to. Just change the solar and UV settings when you get the new station, plus of course the connection method if it is going to be different.

Re: hi do i need this
think In done the same when I moved from a Vue to a vPro2. there is no need to reset. just enable sensors and the type of connection (if its different)
