WeatherLink down?

Post by Mapantz »

Has Davis' WeatherLink gone down?

My data hasn't updated since 1:30pm. I've checked other stations too, and all data is 3 or 4 hours old. The app doesn't even work for the local network either. AirLink isn't updating in CMX which is weird?

Interesting you see the last update as 1:30 - I see "Last updated: 25 November, 2020 / 14:50" for your station!
Mine says 13:25 for me.

Cannot log in to weatherlink today. The 'Login' button does nothing. I cleared cookies, still the same. I also then get an error 500.

Tried on multiple browsers and also tried via a different ISP - still the same.

yep all good here too. though did have a Virgin Media outage last night for about 4 hours. the WLL and Airlink however managed to recover from the lost outage time and correct missing data when the network came back up.

I could not log in to the weatherlink page for a few hours, it kept giving me a 500 error, or it would say my username / password was incorrect. I tried 3 different ISP's and multiple browsers and they all did the same.

If I check 'Keep me logged in' and I come back the next day, I get a 500 error. The only way to get in is to clear the cookies and never use auto login.

Just getting fed up with the whole situation. The data back up never worked when their servers went down. All of the days highs/lows were wrong, and so were the times. I'm glad I don't rely on their services for my data!

Not seen any other reports of log-in issues today and people are usually pretty quick to contact us. So that's curious.

Do I recall you saying that you rebooted the WLL during the previous outage? If so, that would probably explain the gap in history etc. WLL usually does a pretty good job of catching up post-outage but does need to be left to its own devices. The moral is I think not to reboot unless you're specifically asked to do so. (It's actually only very rarely that a WLL reboot is necessary.)

All working OK for me too - and has been since the AWS outage recovered. I can see your Bulletin fine too - all updating OK.

I use the "stay logged in" feature too, and that works OK. I have to re-authenticate every couple of days, but that is expected.

That's what shows up if I use auto login.

I have to not use it and clear cookies to be able to log in. It's been like that since I first started using it.

cant say I have seen any issues with logging on to weatherlink at all.

using Windows 10 with MSIE, Chrome, Edge, Opera all seem good. Using uBlock Origin plugin, but other than than nothing else blocked.

Mapantz, are you using any pi-hole, or proxy software at all? I take it wl.com is the only site you have issues logging on? Weatherlink does rely heavily on cloudfare for many java scripts. perhaps your blocking some cdnjs content?

No blocking software or proxies etc

It's always a 500 error, which is server-side.
