thanks Ray, think I probably need to resign myself to renewing equipment every 4 or 5 years. I'm only a hobbyist and dont want to change hardware supplier as the console and integration with cumulus works well. If it costs me a few hundred ££ for the pleasure then so be it. I expect there is better equipment on the market, or is there for my environment? It would help if it was cost effective and easy to swap out individual components rather than renew the whole mother board (harness) each time.

I've not done it but have read that changing the temp/hum sensor in the Davis VP2 is relatively easy and inexpensive compared to the Davis Vue. If you were to update to a VP2 you would not need to replace the Vue console, just the ISS so considerable cost saving.
Enjoy,
Paul

Good advice from Paul. Check with your supplier. They may have reconditioned ones or perhaps do you a deal on a VP2 ISS.

It is Ted. I bought mine from ProData in Cambs and they provide excellent service. John Dann often frequents these pages. This is the link to the VP2 and please note the info on the right about the temp / humidity sensor.
