The logger is the interface you plug into the back of the console, it contains some memory to store the archive records. The only way I know of "clearing" it is to change the logging interval to another value and back again which will reset the memory pointers to make the old records inaccessible.

Interesting. I thought the little Keyspan device between the console and my computer was essentially an adapter. I didn't realize it had any onboard memory.

They keyspan device doesn't that is just a converter. The cable that comes out of the VP2 console is attached to small board that plugs into the back of the vP2, that contains the memory.
