How to correct bad data?

Post by Paragon »

My Vantage Vue recorded 20.4 mm of rain the other day. It was not raining but it was windy, so the pressure differential between the top and bottom of the station caused the bucket to tip.

I have corrected the data in the Cumulus files and set the total rainfall for the month and year to what they should be in the data files. When I restart Cumulus, it does what it should until the last reading it downloads from the console.

The VV console rainfall total is still 20.4 mm larger than it should be. On the last downloaded reading, Cumulus reconciles its total with the console and just adds 20.4 mm of rain to the last reading to make them match.

Is there a way to change the reading on the console?
Or any other way to tell Cumulus to not accept the console rainfall total?

I am using Cumulus 1.9.4.

You should be able to use the 'today's rain' editor to correct today's total, and from then on it should be fine. Note that having used the editor, you need to leave Cumulus running at least until it writes the next log entry.

Rats! I didn't get to it until it was yesterday's rain. I'll have a bigger job. I'll try to do it within Cumulus.

Thanks for your reply Steve. Hope you are settling into Motorhome living well.
