My Glovine hosted website stopped working yesterday at around noon GMT (I haven't changed anything for ages). I've tried to log on tro their support which has been helpful in the past but I can't seem to find Glovine at all now. Has anyone else got problems with them or am I the only one still using them?

Hi Kit,
Seen as there is no such company/website as "Glovine", it's possible that Glovine might have gone bust. But, I'm not sure.

Hope this helps...

It makes me think, that the company doesn't have many customers, so they didn't or don't have enough money, to keep the business running.kit_kenrick wrote:am I the only one still using them?

William, what search engine are you using....... another stupid and uninformed response from you. Please don't give advice, if as you say, you're not sure.William Grimsley wrote: Seen as there is no such company/website as "Glovine", it's possible that Glovine might have gone bust. Kit,
Are you using the GloVine free web hosting account? I have a paid account with GloVine and have great support from Ryan and the team. I received the following email on Friday evening (Australian time) from their support team and several others on Saturday. My site has been down on and off over the weekend and their website and cPanel have been affected too.
Dear Dan
This email is to inform you that there is currently an active maintenance window occurring
This maintenance is necessary to ensure all servers are updated and secure against any threats that may exist
You may notice that your website is unavailable between 9AM Today for a few hours, Each site may vary depending on which server the site is located on,
It is estimated that each server will take between 3 - 5 hours during this period
Once this window has ended, A further update will be supplied.
If you have any issues or concerns, Please reply to this email.
Regards,
Daniel Watson

Re: Whats happened to Glovine
William there are a few people here that use the free web hosting from Glovine, this can be easily be found out if you did a search on this forum. Don't post a reply if you don't know the answer.
I have been using the Glovine free hosting one year now and has been quite reliable. Sometimes it does go down but a day or two later (at the most) it does come back.
Thanks Dan for posting the email message, I thought that it was something to do with server side because a few other sites are also down, though I don't get any information when it does go down.

Re: Whats happened to Glovine
Thanks Dan(et al). I never got the warning email - I guess thats what I get when I'm getting the service for free. What really had me worried for a while was that I couldn't access their website at all (via google for instance). However, all is well again and my site is back up as per normal. I must say that Ryan was very helpful when I was setting up my site and after some initial problems (mainly deriving from my ignorance) it's been running trouble free for the last 18 months. Which was why I was surprised when it disappeared.
