v5.0.0 beta2

Post by HansR »

There was a glitch with the rain rate axis which has been corrected and led to beta2patch1 which has been released and can be found in the release topic.

OK, beta2 patch2 is out handling some stubborn features concerning the labels of the axis.
Watch out for any anomaly which requires fine-tuning but I think we're getting there.

The order in which graphs are in the menu is the order in which they are found in the definition file.
The first chart is always shown by default so if you want to change what you see when starting up, just put that chart ahead of the definition file (doc will be amended accordingly).

OK, that's good. It is approaching the stability I need for releasing.
I'll keep trying combinations over the weekend and then try to release Sunday.
Thanks for the testing! :D

@Paul: Yes, looks good. Suggestion to try?

One of the origins of this exercise are the multi variable graphs as we can see on Marks site and on Javiers site. Those graphs give an overview of the current weather and my thought was to create the possibility to have such graph as an opening graph for CumulusUtils. To make such graph free to configure for the user is no simple task and Marks select-a-graph solution is a great step but by no means simple. And still not flexible enough.

So that is where the Chart Compiler comes from: a possibility to make a user defined chart as an opening for the viewer but not as a user feature but as an owner feature.
And beyond that, as I said before, I am thinking of other possibilities to create graphs and put them wherever you want (so in multiple output files), with variables free to choose. But that is some steps beyond. Note that the order of the drop down is determined by the order of the charts in the definition file.

So - suggestion ! ;) - what you could try to make is a chart which shows the important current weather features where you live.
Combine that with other features to make a readable chart and make the charts show when you click certain Dashboard panes. That's what it's all about.

And if you miss a feature let me know.

BTW: I keep on finding minor things which I change, especially around the axis so maybe I will release a third patch on this beta otherwise I intend to release Sunday evening.
