From build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

Cumulus MX release 3.9.2 (build 3097) NOAA Monthly Reports

Post by Hatkit »

This may be another bug, but it seems that since December 10th the NOAA monthly reports are not computing average wind speed any more. Interestingly on the annual report the overall average speed looks as though the missing days have been used in computing the month to date values.

@Hatkit can you zip and post your MXdiags folder please? (the reports are still working for me as well)

What changed on Dec 10 - did you upgrade MX?

Looking at the X Diags I think I found the problem. There seems to have been a blip in the writing of the Dec20log.txt file at the time of upgrade. I've corrected the file and hopefully this should carry through to the NOAA monthly report file. Hopefully there's nothing else causing it!

It is saying you have a problem in your log file...

2020-12-20 06:19:20.323 LoadRecent: Error at line 633 of data\Dec20log.txt : Input string was not in a correct format.

Take a look. Can you report back on that the corruption is? I'm not sure why you get this when you upgrade - are you stopping Cumulus with a Ctrl-C in the program window?

Line 633 (a line of nulls before the next record) is between 01/12/20 10:31 and 01/12/20 12:14 so it wasn't stopping MX for the latest update that caused the corruption. Did you shut down MX during that period?

On the topic of NOAA reports.
I upgraded from 3096 to 3099 about 3 days ago. Now NOAA reports will not create.
They have been auto-creating forever, but if I now re-generate I get nothing with errors in the MXDiag logs.
The error is that there is an incorrect entry in line 21 of dayfile.txt (I cant see anything wrong) and it also errors in the various monthly logs (depending on which I am trying to create)

Is there a known issue? I can provide logs/data files if that helps.

Also, historic graphs are not working, but I cannot see any errors. I am wondering if there are some data issues related to both problems.

Peter
