Cumulus MX release 3.9.2 (build 3097) NOAA Monthly Reports

From build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

Could you please supply your log error messages by zipping up the contents of your "MXdiags" folder and attaching it to a reply to this topic. Then we can look at the errors you are seeing in context.

Freddie,
Thank you for replying. I turned on MXDiag logging extra before doing these tests below.
I tried to re-create the Dec20 NOAA report. You will see errors in the log for dayfile.txt and Dec20log.txt. I've included both.
I then loaded Aug 20 NOAA (which would have been auto-populated last at the end of August) and it was fine. I then did a regen and it failed. I have included before and after reports.
Lastly, included is the MXDiag log (20210106-025516.txt).

Thanks again.
Peter

Things from your log file...

You may be aware if this, but your logger intervals in Cumulus and the VP2 do not match - this will cause you to experience long start-up times.
2021-01-06 02:56:18.262 CheckLoggerInterval: ** WARNING: Your station logger interval 30 mins does not match your Cumulus MX logging interval 15 mins
You are trying to run an external program/script every 15 mins and it is failing with a permissions error.

Code: Select all

2021-01-06 04:30:02.864 Interval: Error starting external program: Access denied
Your dayfile has a problem at line 12.

Code: Select all

2021-01-06 13:04:35.473 Error at line 21 of dayfile.txt: Input string was not in a correct format.
Your Dec20log.txt file has an error at line 1.

Code: Select all

2021-01-06 13:04:35.491 Error at line 1 of data/Dec20log.txt : Input string was not in a correct format.
Both of these errors are because the date is in the wrong format.

Have you used something like Excel to open and edit these files?

The day file has the wrong date format up to 31/12/20.
The Dec20log.txt is wrong format for the whole file.

Mark,
Sorry for my late reply and thank you for your assistance.
I corrected all the dates and the NOAA reports work fine.
Yes, I had opened the dayfile.txt in Excel and must have saved it back out incorrectly.
I am still having issues with the historic graphing but that is for another day. I will do some testing and post when I have it all together.

Thanks again
Peter
