Cumulus MX release 3.9.2 (build 3097) Historic Graphs

From build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

Cumulus MX release 3.9.2 (build 3097) Historic Graphs

Post by Hatkit »

Firstly the historical graphs are a wonderful addition to Cumulus MX. It's all displaying nicely on my pc and also on my website. However, I have noticed that the historical rainfall graphs seem to be displaying incorrect labels to the data. Daily rain is in fact the maximum rainfall rate and Rainfall rate is the daily rain. I wouldn't have thought this was a local thing, but maybe just a quick fix next time.

Thanks!

Good spot! :groan:

I have provided a zip file to correct the two scripts (admin interface and default web site) in the release announcement.

I have updated the main b3097 zip file as well. The updated files in the zip are only required if you downloaded b3097 before 10 Dec 2020 at 11:15 GMT.

Are the historical charts now accessible on my PC if I don't have a website? I looked in vain.....

Have you refreshed your browser (or tried another one)? Sounds like browser caching may be getting in the way of you viewing the new interface pages.

Thanks for the upgrade on historic rainfall charts, initially when the historic charts appeared they all worked with the exception of rainfall. I thought the problem was my data load and spent some time trying to verify and chase the error.

Having upgraded to 3097 quite quickly after release the problem showed but subsequently I re downloaded the 3097 zip and reinstalled. At this point I realised that Mono also upgraded to version 6.12.0.107 (tarball Thu Dec 10 05:44:54 UTC 2020). After stopping CumulusMX and rebooting with the new version all worked just fine and the historic graphs worked as expected.

Good work

I've noticed what maybe a glitch in the historic chart series. The humidity graph doesn't seem to update. all the others are fine and I presume are picking up the info from the Dayfile. However, the humidity graph ends at the 10th December. I suppose it could be a local issue, but I can't think what it might be.

The first error is known and can be ignored. The second error is saying that there was a problem when it was uploading the humidity file. You can manually upload the file for now and see if the same happens again tonight.

I manually uploaded the alldailyhumdata.json file yesterday and it worked. However, three of the suite of historic charts failed to update this morning. Still don't understand how some of the charts update ok, but the three below somehow didn't make it. Host based FTP issue with passive mode perhaps?

Hmm, it's odd that the attempt to upload a file that does not exist seems to somehow corrupt the whole FTP connection. I'll add a catch for this in the next release to prevent it happening.

Perfect. What I do not understand is why everything worked well from 09/12 to 12/12 and that there is this problem from 13/12.

Thank you very much.
