@beteljuice, many thanks for doing this. I've added my site to your map.
Though Australia/Tasmania has no Country Flag. shows up as A1.png (should be AU.png).
Kindest Regards,

OK - current operational philosophy ...
There is no intention for the map to receive or trawl for user(s) info - ie. NO dynamic information.
It is not meant to show climate data nor website status.
It is simply a who / where map - remember this while I answer questions / muse about things.

Click on marker = center map and zoom in (I.e. can't be used for external link)
Hover on marker = momentary pop-up ie. You can't actually mouse onto the pop-up to put a link there.

User definable "Auto Pilot" - what a great idea, then I thought WHY ? - It's just a map, no dynamic content - if you <IFRAME> you can always put your links below ;)
BTW If anyone wants to experiment - width = 700px ;)

"What would be the use of being on the map without a website?" - So that others know where you are and have an appreciation of the number of users.

"When you add the link to websites, can there be a list of program/equipment being used?" - If there is a website, then it is up to that user to provide an "about" page ... besides, you'd need a couple of screens or more to list all the progs you run

"why would anybody be interested in a beteljuice swimming in the middle of he Channel?" - It was while the beteljuice was testing the water :P - as a non-user it will be removed.

Although I catered for names like 't Zandt (Damn difficult when you're mixing js and php arrays) - forgot the basics of computer speak 'sort', so ...
multidimensional / multi array sort modified - user table now in human order.

AU flag no longer 'walkabout' (typo in look-up array)
Website links (when applicable) in user table.

... but ... I'm still trying to workout how Terry managed to enter 'new zealand' (all lowercase) :?
Edit: Aha - I think he just kept typing and ignored the dropdown ?

Keep the comments coming (for now 8-) )

The Beteljuice toy is very interesting. :D
Perhaps it could be the embryo of a new world map of Cumulus users.

@Terry ... forgiven ;)

Nearly as far as I'm going to take it.

Final location: www.beteljuice.co.uk/CuMap/index.php

Admin: www.beteljuice.co.uk/CuMap/index.php?admin

new facilities ....
You can 'enable' the home button on the auto-pilot, this also stops you being zapped :D
www.beteljuice.co.uk/CuMap/index.php?userID=dickie

You can choose to not display the user table by adding table=false
www.beteljuice.co.uk/CuMap/index.php?userID=dickie&table=false

You can initialize map to a country by adding country=???? ??? NB: MUST be exactly as seen in dropdown selector
www.beteljuice.co.uk/CuMap/index.php?country=Uruguay
NB: If the above link doesn't work try <cntl><F5> to force a refresh of the js file ;)

Edit:
... looking at map initialization 'home'.
... and there's more

in conjunction with ?userID=????? you can add &gotome - map initializes to world then zooms to you.
www.beteljuice.co.uk/CuMap/index.php?userID=dickie&gotome

but wait, why not use &country=??? ??? as well ;)
www.beteljuice.co.uk/CuMap/index.php?userID=dickie&gotome&country=United States

Edit #2: To use in an <iframe> on your site ...

Code: Select all

<iframe src="http://www.beteljuice.co.uk/CuMap/index.php" style="width: 700px; height: 970px; border: none;" allowfullscreen></iframe>
See it in action here.

Just instructions (like this post) to put on bottom of admin page.

@ FORUM admin - Advise please, best start all over again in third party tools ???

Will be putting everything a new topic in 3rd party tools soon .....

@beteljuice: could you remove my pin/account? I'll have to redo this because I forgot my pw (or could you make it work with pw managers?)

You are more inventive than this
It just about choice of how to use and display your markers and how to zoom etc...

A table is OK, but real effective user interface is a clickable marker.
You're using leaflet just as I do so I don't see why not?
