This is a continuation of a topic that was raised in another thread regarding the possibility of having sonme Wiki Pages for FO / Ecowitt / Ambient / etc.. stations.
Original thread where the idea was suggested:
viewtopic.php?p=151907#p151907
Over at wxforum.net we have a nice Product Matrix that is very comprehensive but seems to alienate some people because of the complexity and amount of information.
https://www.wxforum.net/index.php?topic=40730.0
Therefore, some questions and feedback welcome regarding the possibility of a new Wiki Pages .
- Vote by posting your support for a Wiki Pages creation in this thread
- How do we get started with a Wiki Page? Hosting recommendations please.
- What sort of things should the Wiki contain?
- Who should maintain it? Could it be open for anyone to contribute or only allow vetted editors?
Welcome to the Cumulus Support forum.

Re: Discussion for FO / Ecowitt / Ambient Wiki Pages
I noticed on the WXForum post by Gyvate there is no mention of GARNI weather stations. they look very similar to FO/Ecowitt stuff

Re: Discussion for FO / Ecowitt / Ambient Wiki Pages
As for voting. well its just better for someone to create a wiki, and be done.
as for maintaining it. Gyvate and you are then ones with the knowledge, but anyone should be able to contributue, then then admins moderate the changes when new content is submitted.
Its fairly easy to control.

Except for the GARNI 940 (EW WH2910) their other weather stations do not look like Fine Offset clones.ConligWX wrote: ↑Thu 18 Mar 2021 8:52 am I noticed on the WXForum post by Gyvate there is no mention of GARNI weather stations. they look very similar to FO/Ecowitt stuff

Would be better to bring this up in https://www.wxforum.net/index.php?topic=40837.0 - our related discussion thread.
It becomes difficult to mention all resellers ...

Seems like GARNI is just like Ambient and Froggit, in that they sell not just Fine Offset clones but they also sell CCL and UCTECH clones.

Re: Discussion for FO / Ecowitt / Ambient Wiki Pages
Back to the main subject of this thread. I suppose "if you build it they will come." But that is just it. How, where, and by whom? Anyone have any suggestions on how to proceed? Yes myself and Gyvate have much of the knowledge and we can fill the pages. But perhaps someone else would like to volunteer to mount and host or set up the core Wiki?
I'm not seeing much action on this. I also wanted to gauge the interest....so far not much interest it seems.

Re: Discussion for FO / Ecowitt / Ambient Wiki Pages
maybe asking on the wxforums. seem to be plenty of chat there on the FO and equivalent hardware. Maybe Ken True could host a wiki for you?galfert wrote: ↑Fri 19 Mar 2021 3:52 pm Back to the main subject of this thread. I suppose "if you build it they will come." But that is just it. You could publish a table on GitHub or sourceforge or... Then use that projects Wiki to host your detailed info pages?
