Re: Unexpected "weather station offline" gauges page
I have logged onto the weather station computer.
Looking in the /web directory on the pi I can see websitedata.json with a time/date of today (23/10/21) and 14:15 so this is being created as expected.
But looking on the web server there is as you say a 0 byte version of the same file.
Trying to upload the file manually using FileZilla ftp I see the following dialogue:
Command: STOR websitedata.json
Response: 150 Accepted data connection
Response: 451-Error during write to file
Response: 451 Transfer aborted
Error: File transfer failed
I have also attached the most recent log file with the "unexepected" lines removed with a grep -v. So this shows only the errors related to uploading.
Please can you review the log il and advise?
Thanks

Re: Unexpected "weather station offline" gauges page
First off I would delete the remote file on the web server with FileZilla.

Done some more digging- a 451 error is server side- could be an exceeded quota, or file permissions, or actually out of physical space on the server!
So nothing to do with CMX.

Freddie, done it and reloaded the web page so this is looking sensible again.
Still, gauges are still dead.
I will see what the server admin has to say about the 451 errors.

Check to see if you've got the same thing with your realtimegauges file.
Do you have the MX FTP setting "delete before upload" checked? If so, I would uncheck it.

Can you switch on FTP logging, that might give a clue.

Re: Unexpected "weather station offline" gauges page
UPDATE:
The total breakdown of the website was caused (as I suspected) by our disk space quota on the server being exceeded.
The server admin conducted a housekeeping exercise, after which the ftp uploads resumed and have been running smoothly ever since.
But we are still getting the unexpected "offline" message in the gauges page from time to time.
This happened last Sunday (7th November), then by Monday morning the gauges had started working again without any intervention on my part.
Today (Saturday) the gauges page is showing the offline message again.
Interestingly the message in the LCD display says "last update 16 hours ago", which at the present time of 17:08 puts it at 1am in the morning. Last Sunday's outage was likewise at this time.
I wonder if something is happening on the server at that time? A scheduled reboot maybe?
I will see if the gauges sort themselves out like they did last week.

Re: Unexpected "weather station offline" gauges page
Sunday morning 7:!5, and the gauges are working again.
No intervention on my part at all.
I will keep monitoring the page and see if this pattern repeats itself, i.e. going "offline" at 1am in the morning.

Re: Unexpected "weather station offline" gauges page
Tuesday morning "offline" again, seemingly at 1:45am.
As of posting, still "offline". As before, all other pages working.
