I set the Alarm for HTTP uploads.
It got triggered last night by the WOW upload but on looking at the Error messages it appears the WOW service was down for a while.
But I also noticed (thanks to betaljuice's MXDiag searcher) that I am occasionally getting this error
"2021-09-17 04:15:00.575 WOW Response: ERROR - Response code = 429, body = The custom error module does not recognize this error.".
Is anybody else getting this. Uploads are now working on looking at the site, so it doesn't seem to be important?

Re: WOW uploads
Afaik wow does not expect/accept catch up series and then you get incomprehensible errors. Yes?
I had these before yes. But I switched off catching up.

Re: WOW uploads
The lack of comprehension comes from .NET and Mono labelling of HTTP response code 429 - which is an established response code using when rate-limiting access to resources. WOW will return 429 based on number of requests in a period of time PLUS system load at the time - so not a particularly predictable set of circumstances. You can even trigger a 429 response when your update interval is set to 5 minutes if the system load is high enough at the time. Using catch-up with WOW is possible, but only with a very short catch-up period - the catch is it will only work when something that is out of your control (WOW system load) is favourable. So it is best not to use it for WOW.

Re: WOW uploads
OK I switched off catch up on WOW but I am still getting that error. My interval is set at 5 minutes would that be causing it?

Re: WOW uploads
My interval is set to 5 minutes too, but I'm getting OK response. It could be that you've run a catch-up recently and your tally of requests is still a bit high. I would check again in a couple of hours.

Re: WOW uploads
I kept an eye on this and it still happened.
So I changed my upload time from 5 to 10 minutes and have not had an error since 10.45am, which kind of confirms that is what they have done.
By the way again KUDOS to betaljuice's MXDiag file interrogator, it makes sorting through an MXDiag file so, so easy!! Heartily recommend it but hope he doesn't stop hosting it because of too much traffic!!
Notice the pattern!! It seems to me,and on looking at my WOW site confirmed it as it only alters every 10 mins, that they have changed to time to every 10 minutes to accept data and anything else is rejected.2021-09-18 06:50:00.680 WOW Response: ERROR - Response code = 429, body = The custom error module does not recognize this error.

Re: WOW uploads
Hmm, I upload at 5 minute intervals and I'm not seeing any issues - other than the odd failures I have always had with "Service unavailable" messages being returned, sometimes a few times an hour, then it will go hours before it happens again.
The odd thing is (I've mentioned this before) that sometimes the error is returned as just text in the body as you would expect from the API, other times as a fully formatted human readable web page with additional apologies text saying they will get the service back up soon.

Re: WOW uploads
Hmmmmm. OK but all I can say is that data is still being uploaded and I haven't had a single error since 10.45am.
