monthly totals update

From build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

monthly totals update

Post by Pirate3000 »

Hi all
I have just moved my older MX monthly rain, sun etc files from the old Pc to the new one.
They are in the cuculusmx/data folder showing as Jan21log.txt.
How do you get them to show in the cumulus highs and lows (records.htm)
I have looked and I cant seem to find the file to edit or copy and paste them into.
Thanks in advance.

Not clear from your post if you just want file names, clue they are in data folder and have extension .ini.

There is one complication, MX ignores any data in files with logging date before the date shown on your records web page as the start of using Cumulus. Adjust that date in the MX interface by picking Settings menu and selecting Station Settings page, then look in the Advanced options.

For the actual edits, in MX interface, find Edit menu and select All time records page to amend "all time records" for the new months you have added, or select Monthly all time records to amend the month-by month extreme records.
There you can amend each extreme record that needs to be adjusted.

Full details including the file names you ask about in documentation Wiki at https://cumuluswiki.org/a/Correcting_Ex ... me_records.

Not sure I understand the issue though. If you copied your entire /data folder and Cumulus.ini across to the new install you will not have to recreate/edit anything. It will all still be there when you start Cumulus?

When moving to another machine be aware of the locale settings!
That may ruin your access to the data somewhat. Is that the same on the new machine as it was on the old one?

Hi all
It was a new Pc so loaded up Cumulus and its been running on this PC since April. Now want to import the data from before that date onto the new PC. I have all the files and now I think that i have just got to edit the ini files with the old data to make them show up.
Will give it a try and let you all know how I get on.

Thanks'
:D
