Ecowitt Users?

From build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

Ecowitt Users?

Post by mcrossley »

Are there any users out there with Ecowitt stations that have a good array of different sensors and would be willing to test a new version of Cumulus MX?

At this stage I would see you running the test version in parallel with your production install (easy with the network attached Ecowitts). It can be a new install with no history, the idea is just to exercise functionality and capture data logs for anything I have missed.

Thanks
Mark

Hi Mark,

I've only had my Ecowitt just on 4 weeks & don't have an extensive array yet.
To date I've only received a WH43 as an additional Sensor & that was just yesterday.
A WH45 & WH51 are on order, but could be weeks.

I do have spare PC's & Pi's on hand though so it could be run on an independent platform or over one of the two installs currently reading the GW1000.

Phil.

I have 3 GW1000 and one WN1900 in test.
2 GW1000A 868MHz
1 GW1000A 433MHz
1 WH32 868MHz
5 WH31 868MHz
1 WH32 433MHz
2 WH51 soil moisture sensors 868MHz
1 WH40 rain collector 868MHz
1 WN67 is the 5 in 1 that comes with WN1900, wind sensor is used by the GW1000 868MHz

Since it is CMX to call for data there is no problem to have more than one running. I use VS2017 or 2019 also so I can test CMX on it if there is the code in github.

Mark,

I am currently running two GW1000s.

#1 connected to:-
GW1001 Wi-Fi Weather Station with Solar Powered 7-in-1 Outdoor Sensor (Actually the FROGGITT version)
WH31 multi-channel temperature and humidity sensor
WH57 lightning sensor

#2 connected to:-
WS68 Wireless Solar Powered Anemometer with Light & UV Sensor

The GW1000 are logged by two instances of CumulusMX running on a Raspberry Pi 3A under Debian 10. The second system is used as a high level (~10M) anemometer

I would be willing to test a new release!

Cheers

Mark,

I’m happy to try but don’t have that many sensors, or much experience on my Pi, and have not yet got round to building a web server so my setup is quite simple.

I have an HP2553 station (WS80, WH40, and console) plus GW1000 and WH41 outdoor AQS running on a Raspberry Pi 3B+

I have an Ecowitt with Wind, Solar, AQI, Rain Gauge, Lightning Detector etc. I have no spare hardware at the moment - could it run at the same time as my current CMX as a second instance on a Raspberry Pi - if so I would be very happy to give it a try!

Sorry, but I cannot see any emails from you? Checked my spam folder too.

Anyway I was hoping you would volunteer, could you PM me your email address to remind me please and I'll take it from there.

For everyone else I have enough testers onboard now thanks.
