Weather Forecast ???

From build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

Weather Forecast ???

Post by odintheterrible »

Greetings from Spain :)

Since installing the new weatherstation and the Ecowitt GW 1000 everything has been running exremely smoothly.

However, because of where we live in Spain, the weather forescast is extremely inaccurite ! At the moment we have clear blue, clodless skies yet the station reports in Cumules "stormy, much rain" and on the weather staton base unit (Brandson WPD 304465) there are 2 clouds with rain falling !!! LOL

Is there any way to adjust how Cumulus reads/calculates the weather forecast so it can be manually biased/adjusted ??? I'm asking this as where we live appears to be in somewhat of a 'blind spot' for the weather as we seldom get any of the rain / storms etc which the local weather service announce for the area in conjunction with the local Ayantamiento's (Townhall) adverse weather warnings.

Thanks

Cumulus will take your weather stations data and then make a forecast. I suggest if your weatherstation is reporting clouds and rain, then your weather station is not reporting correctly.

firstly is your Barometric pressure set correctly or in line with other local stations? then is the Temp/Humidity similar to other stations, since you have not given any sign you have a website, we will be guessing what your location and surroundings and weather data is.

You can do some fine tuning to the forecast 'ranges' but,
..where we live appears to be in somewhat of a 'blind spot' for the weather as we seldom get any of the rain / storms etc which the local weather service announce for the area in conjunction with the local Ayantamiento's (Townhall) adverse weather warnings.
That suggests there little we can do with your very micro-climate :?
