From build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

Is there going to be a step by step in the wiki for updating the pi version to the latest, I was able to follow the install instructions for that and it all worked thank you, but I know nothing about the pi language so wondered if that will be done...

All I have done so far is downloaded the update 3.10.5 to the PC...
thanks in advance...

what version are you on now?

upgrades are usually done by just stopping CumulusMX then uploading all files to the CumulusMX folder to overwrite the older ones. issue is if you dont keep up to date upgrading to the latest from a very old version can cause issues, and also if you run a non default CumulusMX web site.

with a pi. you can use WinSCP on your windows PC, connect to your Pi and then drag and drop the files to the CumulusMX folder. you must however STOP cumulus from running before attempting to upgrade.

The version was the first one they released for the pi and I simply followed the instructions and it worked, as far as I know this is the first update they have released though could be totally wrong on that....

I think he is talking about the Raspberry Pi image, in which case it should be the same process except you should close MX before upgrading the current image over the previous.

Updating by installing a new rPi image wasn't really on my radar - I expected that to be used as a one-off initial install (or if you need to re-image for any reason).

Updates would be handled as Simon @ConligWX said - copy the contents of the new Cumulus MX zip file over the current install as you would for Windows.

If you do re-image a new rPi disk, then be sure to make a full backup (or two!) of your /data and /reports folders and Cumulus.ini file before doing it, then restore them afterwards to the new disk. Preferably re-image to an alternative SD card so you can always switch back to your previous install if you run into issues.
