Cumulis MX New Template
Should the new template developed by Neil Thomas update automatically in accordance with the set update time frame (in my case every 5 min)? If so, how do I make this happen?

Re: CumulusMX New Template
the new layout uses json files and new htm files.
it really depends on what website files you are currently using. read all of the content below to understand what is required or if you want the new or old style layouts.

Re: Cumulis MX New Template
Be aware this is still 'entry level' coded, although it does address many of the shortcomings of the 'old' standard templates.
Any serious amount of customising or data grab you should pretty much do whatever you did before.
only the index and today pages will subsequently update.
The script loads the json file every 60s, but in your case the json file is updated every 5 min.

Re: Cumulis MX New Template
All good now re the reloading: thanks @beteljuice and @ConligWX.
Another problem has now emerged. It seems that the forecast which appears on my website (https://www.kstwx.net/cumx/index.htm) is exactly as that which appears on Oaktree Weather's site (https://weather.oaktreewebs.co.uk/index.htm). See screenshots which demonstrate this as well as the current BOM forecast for Carina and my system's settings re the forecast. Any help to correct will be much appreciated.
Thanks
Keith

Re: Cumulis MX New Template
@beteljuice. Thanks for your reply. It’s looking like a coincidence. I haven’t touched any code.
They are certainly different at 0950 Saturday AEST here at Carina.
Best wishes
Keith

Re: Cumulus MX New Template
To improve website readability for GB, AUS and NZ users, I would appreciate the appropriate person's thoughts on making a change in the way the last rainfall info is presented in the now page of the new template by Neil Thomas. The usual date presentation in these countries is e.g. 29 April 2021 or 29/04/2021 or perhaps 29-04-2021. The date format currently used is in the form 2021-04-29 which is part of the Cumulus tag <#LastRainTipISO>. Example follows:

Re: Cumulis MX New Template
How about - https://weather.wilmslowastro.com/test/newMX/index.htm
It will simplify the date to just day and month in the locale of your Cumulus MX.

Mark
Your proposal is fine by me and is easier to read in my opinion.

Re: Cumulis MX New Template
I agree, I don't think we really need the time and year - unless maybe you live in the Atacama desert!

Re: Cumulis MX New Template
On the graphs page of this template, there is a “ticker” which shows the system - perhaps the Zambretti - forecast. The standard template for index.htm - the now page - also includes this forecast.
In order to include a localised forecast, I have now included the current official forecast for my area as issued by the Australian Bureau of Meterology (issued usually twice daily) in the now and today pages. I obtain this forecast by downloading an XML file which includes such forecast, processing this and including it on the index and today pages. This then makes that shown on the gauges page ticker to be different to that shown elsewhere.
I would appreciate help to fix up this anomaly should anyone care to dip their toe in this water.

Re: Cumulis MX New Template
That would not be an easy solution. As al alternative to the forecast, you could put some other information in the ticker?
I prefer that and have done so on my gauges page: https://weather.wilmslowastro.com/gauges-ss.php
You would then just need to edit the realtimegaugesT.txt file, and put what text/web tags you want into the forecast field.

Re: Cumulis MX New Template Last Rainfall Data
I have a problem with the information shown in respect of the last rainfall data as can be seen from the next attachment.
This is the last rainfall shown in the may21log file:
I have looked in as many places that I have thought of to date to find the problem and fix it but to no avail. I would very much appreciate any help offered to fix this.

Re: Cumulis MX New Template
@mcrossley
Here are the files timed around the last rain event and a current one as requested.
Could you please tell me which file the script is picking up the value in "LastRainTipISO" from and then publishing it in the page.
Thanks
