Legacy Cumulus 1 release 1.9.4 (build 1099) - 28 November 2014
(a patch is available for 1.9.4 build 1099 that extends the date range of drop-down menus to 2030)
Download the Software (Cumulus MX / Cumulus 1 and other related items) from the Wiki
From build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

2) if I want to edit the static images, do I just find the image file names and replace the static seagull ones with my images, named the same as those seagull ones? I have nothing against seagulls but we don't find them within several hundred miles of where I am. Painted buntings however....
The simplest way as you say is just to replace the existing image files with ones of the same name. Try and keep them a similar size too, though the header image will be restricted to avoid the header getting too big.
I replaced the images with others of identical size and name but I noticed one minor issue with the seagull image (picture.jpg). The bottom 75 pixels or so of that image are cutoff by the bottom ribbon/banner. I modified my image with a blank area on the bottom 75 pixels but I just thought I would mention that so you or Neil could take a look at it. Anybody else that wants to modify that image will realize the same thing. It may not be readily apparent looking at the seagull image but if you put an image of something like a white box surrounded by a black border, you'll see what I mean (or try this one below).
Here is the original image I used (try it and you'll see the issue):
Thanks for this update, it's certainly a more modern look.
A couple of things jumps out at me. On my main page, the 'current conditions' field is blank - This is the same on the demo page here: https://weather.oaktreewebs.co.uk/index.htm
On the gauges page, on the right hand side it says "Welcome to" and then it's blank underneath. Again, it's the same on the demo page.
The only other thing that I've noticed is that I now need to scroll down to see the lower gauges, on the previous style page, I could see all the gauges in a single view without having to scroll.
On my main page, the 'current conditions' field is blank
You've stumbled on the same thing I did...
Go to your localhost:8998 Edit tab, click on Current Conditions, fill it in, Apply, and then check your website (may have to clear your cache to get a current page). It is "whatever you want it to say manual entry" and stays there until you edit. http://www.komokaweather.com/cumulusmxwll/
on the right hand side it says "Welcome to" and then it's blank underneath
You probably still need to fill in the Station Location Description in Settings.
I found one other issue with the main web page that loads. The main index.htm page shows the "Welcome to..." on the right side and states that "these pages are updated every X minutes". However, I think that only applies to how often the data is made available if the user manually refreshes the page, not how often it refreshes itself. I've let mine sit for an hour or more and the "Conditions at local time X" never updates at all. So is there a way to make the NOW page (index.html) refresh at the same rate as when the page data is updated?
On a setting note, is there a setting somewhere to change the default time mode from 24h to AM/PM on the top of the main page where it says "Conditions at local time 16:35 on..."?

No, not a present.

No, you would have to edit the websitedataT.json file.

My Samsung galaxy tab 10.1 (2016) screen is 1200 x 1920
Hmm, that doesn't look 1200 x 1920, when I resize my browser window to that size it gets a lot more in view. Do you have some sort of screen scaling enabled either in the OS or in the browser, like in Windows you can have a percentage scaling factor?
Hi Mark
Yes there is a Zoom feature for text, however it does not change the menu bar when I make the font smallest or largest, still not visible.
The Cumulus MX interface pages menu bar wraps around on my tablet.
When I make the font small, the BBC website shows more items on the menu bar wih the last item is 'more' with a down arrow at the end.
