Hi Mark,
I have v3.9.4 running on www.komokaweather.com/cumulusmxwll and all seems fine.
A question on the new program settings. What hostname or IP would I enter for the PING?
This is with WLL connections, and I don't use MX Service.
Enjoy,
Paul

The ping is whatever you want Paul - or nothing, blank disables the function.
In my case I want to ensure weatherlink.com is available before CMX starts, but it could be say your database server, or FTP server, your MQTT server or whatever you like.
For your WLL then I suggest you use the same same as me for the ping. If you do not auto-start CMX - either as a service, or via Task Manager, or whatever, then you more than likely do not need to add a delay.

Re: v3.9.4-b3099
Thanks for the confirmation Mark.
It took me a while to understand, and for CumulusMX with WLL I did use the WLL IP and for CumulusMX with WiFiLogger I used the WiFiLogger IP
Enjoy,
Paul

Re: v3.9.4-b3099
Thinking out loud as I do....
So ignore if it's a ridiculous thought.
The occasions I have seen MX get in a knot in the past is when I've had local or wide internet issues.
Would a quick few pings to the hosting site add a indicator as to whether or not to then proceed to the FTP process?

Re: v3.9.4-b3099
Nice addition with the delay start-up.
One question I have is, will the delay be enforced even when there is no historical information to obtain after a reboot and system is only down for a minute?
Rather than a period of time that Cumulus has been stopped like after a power outage.

Re: v3.9.4-b3099
If you reboot the host, then the delay will be applied. Currently it doesn't look at how long it has been down, just at the system up time.
How long CMX has been down could be problematic if someone is running on say a Raspberry Pi without an RTC installed, then the system clock will only be set once the internet is up and it has performed an NTP update. I guess the ping could help there, and would be another use case for the ping delay.
