CumuulusMX dashboard empty

From build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

There's something wrong with your dayfile.txt. If you like, zip it up and post on here. Or look at it yourself in a good text editor (Notepad++ etc.) - but make sure MX isn't running when you do this.

Could the reason MX dashboard was not showing data relate to the dayfil.txt issue? And I still cannot work out why it suddenly came to life yesterday evening.

I would be grateful if you would look at the file, especially as I'm now getting the error message when I try to examine the file within Dashboard. I have some manual data I can enter for the period through early September but I would rather any corruption in the file is found and dealt with before I update any necessary readings.

One fonal point, I thought I had updated MX to the latest version but I note I have downloaded Cumulus MX 3.6.7 build 3083 note 3094. When all this is sorted out I'll update.

opening that file in notepad++ with no wordwrap.

line 4032-4043

these have different values, but the dates have already been added to the dayfile. not sure where these line came from.

only looked at this quickly...

Yes they appear twice when you view Dayfile.txt in Notepad, but the dates 2-14th September do not feature at all if you look in Dashboard.

I'll await further advice before interfering with them.

Remove lines 4020 to 4031 from your dayfile.txt and all will be well. You need to do this with a decent text editor (NOT notepad, but notepad++ is okay), and you need to do it while MX is not running. The dates of these lines are duplicated in your dayfile.txt, and it looks as if it is the lines between 4020 and 4031 that are not holding any (realistic) data.

Hi Freddie,

I have done what you suggest, but I am left with a few issues.

1: When examining Dayfile.txt though the Dashboard I am still getting an error message
Capture.JPG
2: There are four other rogue entries and I have no data for the period 10th to the 14th - should I remove the rogue entries?
Capture1.JPG
3: I seem to have lost data for the period 18th to 22nd Sept

The first error (the one about parameter 51) I don't know about. It may have something to do with some of the earlier entries in your dayfile (the ones from 2009) having less data per line than more recent ones - but you will have to wait for @mcrossley to return for confirmation of that.

The lines I suggested you remove from your dayfile were, of course, based on the file you uploaded to the forum for me to look at (which had a last entry of 14/09/2020). The file you edited appears to have more days at the end of it (15-22 Sept), which will likely explain the lines at 4032-4035 still containing repeated data. If you look at the file you uploaded, you will be able to see that the lines I suggested moving contained the data that gets repeated in that copy of the file - i.e. from 29/08/2020 to 09/09/2020. It is those lines that should be removed. You should have a look at the dates at the start of each line to ensure you're selecting the correct dates to delete, rather than relying on the numbers I gave you.

Hopefully you took a backup copy of the file before doing the edit....

Only if they are duplications !

It may be that for some reason some (chronological) entries have got jumbled up.
Those will need to be cut'n'pasted with something like notepad++

As Freddie said it seems likely that the flavour of cuMX you have considers the early entries incomplete. Again as Freddie says best wait for Mark to advise any remedial action.
(Unless someone has done it already ?)

Sorry I seem to be sowing the seeds of confusion. I did an upgrade last weekend I have two folder MXnew and MXold. I must have sent you the MXold Dayfile.txt. up to the 14th.
