MX installation?

From build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

Post by spidersky »

Hello ,
can someone help me to install MX with win 10 with a WMR200 station?
the browser indicates this:
"This site is inaccessible "*" does not allow connection".

what does it take to make it work?

Can you tell us some more on what is or isn't happening.
I presume you have it installed in C:\CumulusMX\ and are running CumulusMX.exe by right click and Run as administrator?
Then what are the results in your CMD DOS screen?

After CumulusMX is running in your CMD screen have you then entered in browser http://localhost:8998 ?
Then gone to Settings -> Station settings -> and select your station WMR200?

After you run C:\CumulusMXCumulusMX.exe what is in the latest MXdiags file?

Enjoy,
Paul

I think you have perhaps misinterpreted the instruction "Cumulus running at : http://*;8998", hence why you are getting back from your browser that the site at * is inaccessible.

You need to replace the * with either localhost i.e. http://localhost;8998 if you are running CumulusMX on the same computer as your browser or if the CumulusMX you are trying to connect to is on your local network http://MXIPaddress;8998 i.e. http://192.168.1.45:8998.

You should then see the CumulusMX dashboard.

Thank you for your answers, I was making a big mistake, I closed the back window .......... then I could not open the browser.
Now I have access to the parameters, I will be able to tune the station.

hello, another small question, why in the dashboard the data jumps every 2 to 3 seconds?

Because that is the frequency at which the MX "engine" (the running MX program) sends data (in a JSON API to be technical) to the "admin interface" to update the web page.

It's annoying enough, can't we fix anything to change this?

But surely that is the whole point of having an interactive dashboard linked to a weather station, to have interactive results displayed from the weather station.

Cannot see why it is annoying as they just update smoothly they do not "jump" unless there is something wrong with your browser. Which one are you using?

yes, don't look at dashboard, that updates as up to date values are what almost everybody else wants;
instead look at your weather station data on the standard web pages - index.htm does not have updating of values on the page.

Or write your own replacement for MX, working how you want.

Maybe you explain "jumps" a bit better? Do you mean it updates to the latest value every 2-3 seconds, or it jumps between what you expect to see and something else?

Well, my first comment is: weird :!:
I'll think about it. Never seen it before. Maybe / hopefully somebody else has a bright idea?

1) which browser?
2) did you make changes to the interface/css because the text does not fit into the squares?
