Day roll over completed after 18 hours

From build 3044 the development baton passed to Mark Crossley. Mark has been responsible for all the Builds since. He has made the code available on GitHub. It is Mark's hope that others will join in this development, but at the very least he welcomes your ideas for future developments (see Cumulus MX Development suggestions).

Day roll over completed after 18 hours

Post by stewartwlewis »

Hi
Have been looking at last weeks data and the daily rollover that should happen at midnight on 22 June 2020 started at midnight but didn't actually do much until 18:31:24 on the 23 June 2020 when it completed. The dayfile.txt numbers are correct but monthly and realtime counters for wind run and sun hours didn't reset until 18:31.
There is a message in the logs to say that the SQL operation was interrupted but CumulusMX was writing to the Monthly and Realtime SQL tables throughout between midnight and 18:31 so don't think that can be the cause.
Has anybody else seen this and is it something I need to worry about or just accept as a glitch.

Log for 22 June 2020 midnight and part up to 18:31 23 June attached.

running CumulusMX build 3081 on rpi.

Thanks

I'd recommend updating to the latest build, it makes the EOD SQL operation asynchronous with the rest of the EOD processing. So if the update hangs for some reason, MX will carry on.

The real time and period SQL updates will each use a new SQL session so they are all independent of each other.

Thanks Mark

Will do.
Thought it must be a SQL operation locking things but didn't notice the line in the lates update that decouples the sql operations. Fixed before I encountered the problem.

Impressive.
