Sorry Mark but I'd already cleared the cache. However I've done it again - cleared everything since the beginning of time but am still getting connection closed on the now and gauges tabs. I've not had time yet to try a new install but hopefully will do so over this weekend. I'll share the result.

Success! I simply renamed my old installation. Uploaded the new build, 3059 entirely in it's CumulusMX folder. Copied my Cumulus.ini file and entire data directory into the new build and everything is now absolutely fine. I did also need a page refresh on the now and gauges tabs - but then that was expected.
Moral of the story - for me at least - don't faff about trying to replace only the changed files - just use the entire distribution!!

Glad its sorted, yes there is nothing the distribution that will overwrite your data or configuration - only if you have customised the default web pages or the admin interface.
