Greetings to all
Working with CumulusMX v: 3.12.1 build: 3143
Today something unprecedented has happened to me: the station has collected more than 80 mm of rain but, upon reaching 50 mm, both the gauges and the "realtimegauges.txt" file have not exceeded this value; that is, they are stuck at 50 mm. The Davis console continued to correctly mark the rain.
Provisionally I have been solving it by editing the rain value of the day in CumulusMX.
Later I have decided to change the gauges to Weatherdisplay.
I have never seen this before although it is certainly not very common for daily rainfall to exceed 50mm.
Has anyone else observed this? or does anyone know the cause of this happening?

Do you have any spike values set? But 50mm is a suspiciously round number.
Please attach the MXdiags file(s) for that day.

Re: Rain value stuck in "realtimegauges.txt"
I suppose that if it were a "error" of cumulusMX, it must be easily reproducible causing an "artificial" precipitation caused that exceeds 50 mm in any station

Re: Rain value stuck in "realtimegauges.txt"
When CMX started up the last update time was 16/09/2021 11:50:00, and the rain counter at that time was 935,0.
It read the first archive record for 16/09/2021 11:55:00, and that contained a rain counter of 1047,6. A difference of 112.6, and yes this triggered an counter reset incorrectly.
But then CMX gets in a bit of loop trying o reset the internal variables to account for this large jump. Because of that CMX no longer registers any more rain.
This is a bug that I will look into...

I have found the issue, and will get a fix in the next release.
And yes it occurs if you restart CMX when there has already been 50mm or more of rain in the current day.

Re: Rain value stuck in "realtimegauges.txt"
Thank you very much for your explanations.
I have installed the latest version of cumulusMX and those messages about rain have disappeared.
We will have to wait for another day in which there is a precipitation greater than 50 mm
Very grateful for your great work and support
