Problem with yearly rain total

Post by jdtwhitney »

Sorry if this has been covered under a different post. I've searched, but have not found the answer.

My yearly rainfall for 2013 is incorrect. In January we had 0.59 inches of rain and in February we have had 0.01 inches. Yet the yearly total is showing 27.43. This appears to be the total amount of rain that has accumulated since I started collecting data in July of 2012.

My weather station is Ambient Weather WS-2080

I'm running Cumulus V1.9.2 Build 1057

My website showing the incorrect "Rainfall this year" is
http://www.haileweather3.fii.me/index.htm

Anyone have any thoughts on why this value is invalid. Or if this has already been discussed in another thread can you let me know where.

Thanks...

The yearly and monthly totals are calculated from the daily totals in dayfile.txt. Use the dayfile.txt editor in Cumulus to browse the file, to see if you have an anomalous total for one or more days, and correct it. If you can't see the problem, attach your dayfile.txt file here and I'll take a look. Please also zip up the diags folder and attach it.

Steve - thanks for taking a look at this. Attached are the compressed dayfile and diag directory. Let me know if you need anything else

You've set your rain season to start in June, so the total reflects that:

1/30/2013 08:10:17.194 : Getting rain totals, rain season start = 6

I am having the same issue. After reading the posts in this thread i went back into the configuration and changed my rainfall season to start in January, and i made sure the year was set to 2013.

I then exited Cumulas and restarted it.
Updated the web pages.

My rainfall totals (both in the web page view, and in the Cumulus main window) still show the rainfall totals since my December startup date.

Any thoughts?

Please zip up the diags folder and attach it, together with your dayfile.txt file. Please let me know what you believe your total for this year actually is, and what Cumulus is showing.

Note that the 'year' only applies if you've supplied a Year to Date figure, which presumably you haven't, as you don't need one?

Steve - that fixed my "problem" with the yearly rain total. I guess I didn't understand what the 'rainfall season start' setting was used for.

Thanks for the quick reply and also for producing such a great product.
