Wind force tool-tips seem to be incorrect for some readings

Post by aussiewmr »

Hi all,
Running Cumulus beta 1.9.3 (1058)
The included images show that the average wind level is F4 (Gentle Breeze) and the mouse over tooltip shows "Gentle Breeze" for all wind readings. So for Average wind speed that's probably correct.
But looking at relevant pics for latest speed (41.8 km/hr) and gust speed (57.9 km/hr) the mouse over tooltips should be more like "Strong Breeze" (F6) and "Moderate or Near Gale" (F7).
I understand the F4 at the Top LH Side refers to Avg Speed.
Do I have something configured incorrectly or is this a software "feature"
If the intent is to only display mouse over tooltip for Avg Speed then would it be best to only show mouse over on Avg Speed value or to label the display as such?
Cheers
Phil

As described in the help, the tooltip is on the panel. It's an alternative to having it displayed in the panel header, so it appears when you have de-selected the 'Display Beaufort description' setting, as you have. It refers to the average speed, because the Beaufort scale only applies to average speed.

Thanks Steve,
I did read the help but obviously missed all that. I searched for "tooltip" (should have looked for "tool tip") and then read the section on main display.
BTW - Cumulus has been "flawless" for me for many months now. The betas are working out great.
