Rainfall since midnight "-264.8"?

Post by barleywine »

On my web pages, rainfall since midnight appears as -264.8mm today. I have checked all the log files in the data folder and can't find anywhere this is coming from (we have had no rain since midnight here)

Has anybody any idea where this figure could have come from and therefore how to fix it?

cheers

It's because I use the annual rainfall total on Davis stations as the 'total counter', and it resetting has caused the 'since midnight' calculation to go awry. I can't think of an easy way to correct it; it should sort itself out tomorrow - sorry.

If you stop Cumulus and find your midnight log entry (it will either be in the December or January log, depending on whether you use a midnight or 0900 rollover) and set the 'total rainfall counter' (the 12th item) to zero for that entry, then all should be well when you start Cumulus. Alternatively, just wait until tomorrow.
