Temperature graph freezes in 1.9.1

Post by DaveNZ »

Hey Steve, woke up this morning to discover the temperature graph in Cumulus is frozen. All the other graphs are fine and updating. The 2 graphs below are both taken at 8.30am roughly

Here is the temp graph:

And here is the pressure graph at the exact same time, which is how it should look:

By the way, closing and reopening Cumulus fixed the above issue.

This may be connected with the show/hide facility. I haven't seen that, but I have mine showing all but heat index. I may have to withdraw the facility, it does seem to cause some problems.

Do you have 'show freezing line' set?

No I don't. It hasn't frozen today but I have turned debug log on in case it does. Hopefully that would be more helpful if it happens again...

You could have a look in the diags log corresponding to when in froze, to see if there are any error messages.

Couldn't see anything out of the ordinary, although this sequence of messages is appearing frequently:

Code: Select all

9/10/2010 08:28:41.501 : Error processing web\indexT.htm Error: Cannot open file "C:\Cumulus\web\indexT.htm". The system cannot find the file specified
9/10/2010 08:28:41.502 : Error processing web\todayT.htm Error: Cannot open file "C:\Cumulus\web\todayT.htm". The system cannot find the file specified
9/10/2010 08:28:41.502 : Error processing web\yesterdayT.htm Error: Cannot open file "C:\Cumulus\web\yesterdayT.htm". The system cannot find the file specified
9/10/2010 08:28:41.502 : Error processing web\recordT.htm Error: Cannot open file "C:\Cumulus\web\recordT.htm". The system cannot find the file specified
9/10/2010 08:28:41.523 : Error processing web\gaugesT.htm Error: Cannot open file "C:\Cumulus\web\gaugesT.htm". The system cannot find the file specified
I have "include standard files" unticked, so it shouldn't be trying to process those files I thought

It still 'processes' them, it doesn't upload them - you've presumably deleted them? The help needs changing to make this clear. Or perhaps the option needs changing. Or - most likely - another option is needed.

Steve how about an option to create/process the files (from indexT.htm to index.htm) and another option to upload the files - the option to upload the files should not be available if the option to process the files has not been activated.

Yes, that's probably what's needed, if only to avoid a bit of wasted processor time.

Just thinking this through a little in my head.......I do not use the standard files but do use the graphs. If there was an option not to 'process' how would that impact on the graphs?

The graphs aren't "processed" in the same sense (having web tags replaced by real data), so this proposed new option wouldn't affect them, but there is an equivalent, I suppose in that there ought to be a corresponding option to not have the graph images generated at all.

Hmmm .. what about an .ini style setting defining the "standard" files - could be very handy.

Yes, I've been thinking that one approach would be to stop treating the standard files as special, and just have them as the default files. With an associated enhancement of the 'files' section to allow more files.

Just had the temp graph freeze again. Nothing of any use in the debug log though. Other graphs were fine. How odd :?
