In order to try an help it would be useful if you could attach your dayfile (dayfile.txt).

this is the dayfile.txt strange it only suggests an error when you install the patched version the original cumulus 1 does not although they are both using the same file
the error is for the
when the patch is run for the first time it seems to download an awful lot of data then process it which again seems odd as i would assume the data would already be present from the original upto program version which is running 24/7.
it also shows with a green border around the main program interface and dialogue boxes.
i am slowly moving data into mx but until i can test it all out properly i am a little loath to switch until i am sure its all updating my website correctly not so easy when you only have one pc and one station input.

just a little confused

No idea, sorry.

But why are your dayfile entries from 07/02/21 different from the others. Up to then they have lots of empty fields tagged on to the ends of the lines.

that makes two of us
cant work it out
the data goes back for years so my assumtion is the blank fields are normal but since the first run of the noaa patch they seem to have vanished.
i cant see any duplicate entrys so i am at a loss as to why they are being reported
as soon as i copy the original dayfile and cumulus programs back the errors go away most strange
although i dont seem to be producing the blank fields any more

thanks for looking

I have now gone back to a previously saved copy of dayfile.txt recreated the missing entrys using cumulus day file editor and all the blank entrys have gone.
i have re-run the patched version which has not come up with errors.
im still confused but just goes to show backups are invaluable potentually theres 12 years of station data to lose.
see what happens when the dayfile creates tonight hopefully all will be well

many thanks for looking

Neil

finally got to the bottom of it
the issue was not in the actual text file but within the programs dayfile data found duplicate entrys not sure why the were not coming up in the text file though
hopefully this has now resolved the problem and i can claim to be not be confused anymore !!
