NOAA Setup monthy columns blank

Post by rlee171 »

I am running Cumulus 1 V1.9.4. I have been using it for over six years. NOAA updates to the server with no issues, however on the setup screen the two Monthly columns have never populated and are blank, always have been. It is not affecting the performance, just something I have always wondered about. Is there possibly a setting I missed during the initial setup? please see attached.

Thanks,
Ralph

As the Help on that screen indicates these columns need to be filled in by you based on your local normals.
Normal mean temp/Normal precipitation If you have access to long term averages for monthly mean temperatures and rainfall for your location, you can enter them here. They will then be used in the 'departure from norm' column in the yearly reports.

Enjoy,

One point regarding entering averages for temp and rainfall for each month. It’s unlikely the averages will be included in earlier months. You may have to manually regenerate each month since records began.

Could be a long job but very rewarding as seeing how far from the monthly (and annual) average each period is is one of the most valuable statistics you can have for your station.

Here is the link to my stats going back over 10 years. Very different to Arizona’s climate. ;) Notice the Dep From Norm column.
