Total hours of sunshine

Hello
I 've just change my wetaher station to a Ws3083 to have a solar sensor. I have to remaining question :
-what is the "total hours of sunshine" . How it 's calculated ? I am leaving in west of France , the weather is not really nice but cumuls say me 1.5hours of sunshine for 3 days , so it's strange...
- When I have change my station , I do not change the set-up before connect my station. So I have two days of "strange data" . Is there any possibility to erase some data in order to ask the soft to download them again from the station ?
