This is another problem that should be reported, but isn't worth fixing.
I shut down Cumulus and restarted it so I could get a change to take effect.
After the restart, rain "Today" showed as 0.91 inches and "Last 24 hrs" showed as 0.90 inches. It is easy to understand why this happened at startup, but it is obvious that "Today" can never be greater than "Last 24 hrs".

Re: Rain Display Error
I won't be doing anything about this in Cumulus 1, but I'll see if I can do something in MX at some point, if it's possible. It is because of the conversion from mm to inches, and rounding. The 'today' figure is rounded after calculation, but 'last 24 hours' uses the already rounded figures from the log file at start up, so can sometimes differ by 0.01.
