Is Cumulus coming to be adapted to new weather stations?
Tycon Power Systems has just launched its new Professional Weather Station model TP2700WC (http://tycononline.com/tp2700wc-proweat ... r-station/).
Bought this, but Cumulus is unable to make contact with the station and this I think is a pity since I consider Cumulus is the best weather software on the market!
Wish you all a nice day

Re: Is Cumulus coming to be adapted to new weather stations
There's a FAQ about adding support for new weather stations. Please note also that supporting and improving the new Cumulus MX is currently taking up all of my spare time.
Edit: What USB vendor and product IDs does this station use?

Thanks for the reply Steve
I'm not good enough in data to answer you without getting more information about how I can find the answer to your question
Have seen in manual, but it is insufficiently detailed

Find the device under 'Human Interface Devices' in Device Manager. It may or may not be obvious which one it is. Double click on the entry, go to the details tab, and select 'Hardware IDs'. The VID and PID will be shown in hex.

Home and can try to give you the information you asked for.steve wrote:Find the device under 'Human Interface Devices' in Device Manager. It may or may not be obvious which one it is. Double click on the entry, go to the details tab, and select 'Hardware IDs'. The VID and PID will be shown in hex.
Find 2 items under "human interface devices":
USB Input Device with following Hardware ID
USB\VID_10C4&PID_8468&REV_0000
USB\VID_10C4&PID_8468
HID-Compliant device with following Hardware ID
HID\VID_10C4&PID_8468&REV_0000
HID\VID_10C4&PID_8468
HID_DEVICE_UP:FF00_U:0001
HID_DEVICE
Both of these disappear when I remove the usb cable to the console.

Re: Is Cumulus coming to be adapted to new weather stations
Fine Offset stations have VID=0x1941 and PID=0x8021. VID 0x10C4 belongs to Cygnal Integrated Products, who are part of Silicon Labs. Although the sensor suite looks very much like a Fine Offset, the console doesn't appear to be one of theirs. Even if Cumulus was looking for the correct device, it's highly unlikely it uses the same protocol and memory layout - it allows log intervals from 16 seconds upwards, for example.

Re: Is Cumulus coming to be adapted to new weather stations
For now TP2700WC is not working with Cumulus, so then I have to run WeatherSmart and upload to Wunderground to see my station online.

Re: Is Cumulus coming to be adapted to new weather stations
The weathersmart software doesn't work with my fine offset 308X it says 'USB not connected' so I also think it's not compatible with Cumulus.

Per Tycon, the TP2700WC IS actually a Fine Offset, but has a different memory map. The owner of Tycon says he has been trying to contact Steve to get him the information he needs. I have sent a PM also, hopefully they can connect and sort it out.

Re: Is Cumulus coming to be adapted to new weather stations
Just to repeat what I said in my PM reply, I have had no email at all from Tycon - and I have checked my spam folder. If they send me the details, I'll look at them when I get chance.

Just a note for future reference, this same station is in general release by Fine Offset as model WH2310

Re: Is Cumulus coming to be adapted to new weather stations
Hello, just wondering if any progress has been made on getting the Tycon TP2700WC talking to Cumulus? I also purchased the Tycon assuming it to be a Fine Offset, which historically gets along well with Cumulus. If not, I shall return it, before I give up my Cumulus.
Cheers,
Keith
