Yes, all the same stations (and the easyweather.dat input) are supported. I can't test some of them - my WMR928 console fell off the table and broke, for example - so your first task will be to see if it works at all with your station!laulau wrote:Oregon Scientific WMR-928 (i hope this station is still supported)

Re: Cumulus MX (Cumulus 3)
I'm willing, RPi with HDD at the ready, probably with the FO 1090 at first, then VP2 as confidence/knowledge/website port grows...

Re: Cumulus MX (Cumulus 3)
I second Wim's congratulations Steve and also would like to try the beta so adjustments can be made to the Saratoga templates (if needed).wvdkuil wrote:Very fine to hear of all the ongoing work.As the author of the Leuven-Template I have some small questions.
There are about 180 users of the Leuven-Template of which 28 use Cumulus.
This link http://leuven-template.eu/userlist.php?lang=en is the list of users, as far as I know them.
My questions:Again, pleas keep up the good work.
- 1. Is there a list of affected tags which will change / be disabled / with different content? I can then check the tag files and change them accordingly.
2. Will there be the same tag-replace and upload procedure, (FTP) or do you plan a http "upload" possibility for realtime like data?
Wim
I have Windows7, Ubuntu and a Raspberry Pi-B available for testing (running VirtualVP for all the Davis.. both Serial and TCP/IP ports available).
Best regards,
Ken

Re: Cumulus MX (Cumulus 3)
I've just realised that most of the user interface code isn't going to work for those of you who don't use 'full stop' decimal points and comma list separators. This is because the JSON encoding/decoding assumes the use of those. The 'engine' is OK, but not the UI, so until I work out the best way around this, anyone not using those settings will only be able to use the engine part, but most of the UI display screens, and the configuration screens, are not going to work.

Re: Cumulus MX (Cumulus 3)
Possibly, in some cases. But the main problem exists in the server/engine. In some places I am constructing the JSON myself using the .net ToString() to convert the numbers to strings, and using a comma as a separator. The ToString() method will use decimal commas where appropriate, so that's broken for a start. I can either enclose the string in quotes, or convert to decimal points. The UI will then at least work but display everything with decimal points. But I also use some javascript packages which assume decimal points, and will only display decimal points. I have a similar problem with the encoding/decoding in the engine on input from the configuration screens - the .net conversion methods will assume decimal commas but the JSON will contain decimal points.
The straightforward solution is to convert the values to decimal points when creating the JSON in the engine and then convert back (possibly using the method you suggest) in the browser to display decimals correctly for the user's locale. And on input, replace the decimal points with commas before getting .net to convert them to numbers. But I can't do the display conversion for those packages which don't support it, so those will have to display decimal points anyway. It's all a mess.

Re: Cumulus MX (Cumulus 3)
Quite, too late to use an invariant locale server side and user locale for GUI I guess, backward data compatibility goes out of the window. A utility to convert old data to the new format would be required. It's all a mess
Glad it is your problem and not mine , locale issues can be a nightmare to deal with in my limited experience.

Re: Cumulus MX (Cumulus 3)
I think I'll leave it for now until some brave person tries it (well volunteered, Ron ) and I can see what the scope of the problem is. Some of it might actually work automatically anyway. I think the configuration screens will have to work with decimal points (for display) as the package I am using only supports those. I'm going to open a bottle...
